Ant is right, Jacks are excellent dogs, and so what if they're a type of terrier? They can STILL be well behaved.
What I don't agree with though is Huskies in summer. Ok, yes, I live in Michigan so we have a cold climate... in winter. In summer its sweltering nastiness... hot and muggy. Yet I know 3 people who own Huskies and they're just fine in summer if they shed their coats and are kept trimmed. In fact they love to play.
But I do also agree that finding a good dog at the rescue shelter is the best option.
