IT reboot was way better than the original in my opinion. They left off all the "grownup losers" stuff in favor of focusing on the kid battle which I felt was artistically sound, and while clowns don't do shit for me as scary things, I could see where Skaarsgard was very scary evil clown. Did his job well. And the cinematography was spectacular too.
Unfortunately I spent most of the movie wondering if they'd have the balls to go with Kings original "kid battle" finale, as it was jarring and did not fit with the central theme of the story (betrayal and abuse by trusted figures). I have always hated that particular ending, and have used it over the years to illustrate how Stephen King writes like a motherfucker but can't end a book. I won't share it here for spoilers, but if you read the book you already know.
