ADRIAN — A criminal hearing on parental kidnapping charges against John Skelton was continued after he made a brief appearance Wednesday morning in Lenawee County Circuit Court.
Judge Margaret Noe granted the continuance, which was made by Mr. Skelton's attorney, John Glaser, without a reason being given for the request. The hearing is now scheduled for Feb. 23.
Mr. Skelton is being held in jail on $30 million bond on three charges of parental kidnapping involving his three sons.
The boys - Andrew, Alexander, and Tanner, - were last seen on Thanksgiving Day. They were 9, 7, and 5 when they disappeared.
Mr. Skelton is the prime suspect in their disappearances and Morenci, Mich., Police Chief Larry Weeks has said that he believes the three boys are dead.
After Wednesday's hearing, Lenawee County Prosecutor Jonathan Poer said that the case is still under investigation, although he would not comment on whether additional charges will be brought against the Mr. Skelton.
Mr. Poer said he anticipates a trial on the parental kidnapping charges will be held this summer.
