You may be right that the police didn't say ransacked, but I'm pretty sure the police calls have T and the mother saying the house was ransacked. I'm checking again.
The police said 'things were turned over suggesting a struggle.' Yes,
mom and someone else said the house was ransacked. Do not know
if it was, or if that is how they interpreted the scene.
