I think what the poster was referring to was the death several years ago of an inmate in the Lucas County jail that was determined to be from asphyxiation brought on by a sleeper hold administered by several sheriff's deputies. The sheriff was tried for covering up the inmate's death and was acquitted this past December. So technically, not convicted of a felony but he is definitely not thought of as a great leader locally. He's been the Sheriff for decades, and I think there have been past accusations of cronyism, but maybe the original poster has more insight into that.
