He surely wasn't invited, but with friends of friends it likely was known by a large group of people that a "party" was to take place there that night with no parents around, and with many young people invited to drop in. Which would possibly have infuriated him even more, that LS was enjoying her life with his replacement JC to that extent that they were playing house and even hosting a party together.
And he would have been a valuable ally to the other robbers, as he knew the layout of the entire house.
