This is how I think it may have gone down.
TW and the minor and a few others were there the night before. They saw the house. They knew Johnny had some drugs, maybe weed and percocets, and they hear or suspect there's a safe in that house and Johnny and Lisa are going to be there by themselves(probably hearing it from TW and/or her minor friend). TW and the minor were suppose to be the only ones invited over that night, that's what TW said. Plus TW may have been stalling or checking where Johnny and Lisa were, for whom ever, with her call back about running to the store. IMO. Johnny also could have stepped on drug dealing punk's toes by selling some of his wares in an area he wasn't suppose to, and before picking up Lisa from work he was hanging around with old neighborhood friends watching the ProBowl, so it is a possibility, all those neighborhood thugs have their areas and they don't want anybody else stepping in. TW and the minor are well aware of who these homies are, JMO.
Now, once in, you don't need more than 2, if they stuck a knife to Lisa's throat Johnny may have complied instead of resisting, it happens all the time and people wonder how did the subdue those big guys, that's how!
This is the part where they bit off more than they could chew, at least one of them was sociopath, a sadist, psycho who went too far...
