Lisa's car was in the garage. According to the Detective in front of the News cameras on the first day of the investigation. I quote Lady Cop in her opening dialogue on page 1.

Her house has a three car garage. It was cold out. Makes sense to park in the garage and enter through the kitchen.
perfect sense, no doubt.. I always used our garage in the winter months
eta - but then again, if you were only going to be in the house a few minutes, to maybe change clothes, one MIGHT not pull up in the garage
