Maybe it is the wrong guy...? I found the memorial page and his friend's last name starts with 'R' not 'P'.
Could be the wrong guy, but if you are on RP's page, there is a woman on his friend's list, that is the same Name as the mother who posted on the obituary memorial site, initials RR. While her first name is not unheard of, its uncommon enough, that you do not hear it everyday- so I am inclined to think, that RP is correct person, or closely related.
