It's my personal opinion. I'm married to a black man and I can't think of a good, intelligent excuse for that word to escape my lips.
Smart white people don't do it. Why was Eminem such a successful white rapper that got his music actually played on BET (black entertainment television)???? Because he knows not to use that word publicly and still get respect.

He prolly hung out with black people who called each other nigga, but maybe a white boy (honkey, cracker, etc) can't say it w/o getting the shit beat out them. I don't really know. I do know that Eminem says some VERY nasty shit about women. He gets "respect" though. Fuck him.
