Yes, I got the memo. I quoted exactly 130 words. Where did you come up with a count of 500?
The instructions were to cut down to the salient point of the quote to which one responds. There was no directive to cut down on responses. As a matter of fact, the criticism was directed against persons who were quoting long sections only to respond with one-word comments.
We are supposed to be speaking for ourselves instead of merely dragging along excessive baggage of prior speakers.
