I worry as well, they have no aspirations, no desires to do better. If they think "rich-ville" is so amazing, why not better themselves to achieve that status? I've worked w/the lower/no income population & yes it is hard to break away & break the cycle, but it can be done. As we've seen w/TW's mom's Myspace- Tiffany didn't have a mother to look up to, someone to tell her she could be anything she wanted to be if she worked hard. I'm guessing it's the same w/nearly everyone in this crowd.
When I worked in the school systems, during career week, we actually had a little boy say that he wanted to be a pimp when he grew up. That was the environment he grew up in, he didn't know any different. It's a sad reality that exists out there & most of us forget or never knew it existed until a case like this happens.
It's the hint of arsenic that gives it that extra kick.
