I worked in a payday loan store over 8 years ago. I'm not sure if things have changed, or if alarms are different in homes than they were businesses, but as a way to break in the criminals would cut the phone lines at the pole in the early evening, the alarm would send the cops, they would do a drive by, find nothing out of place and be on their way. Later in the night they would come back and do thier business. We finally had to install cellular back ups to all of the alarm systems because they hit many of our stores more than once.
Wasn't it said somewhere that the alarm wasn't working days before this happened?
