But sometimes real-life events overtake the cachet of what seems clever and cute at the time.
John Gotti is not just a TV gangster. He is a real-life murderer who has been convicted of 13 cold-blooded murders.
Someone whose child or sister has been brutally murdered would not want their dog to retain the name of a notorious torturer and murderer and they are not likely to equate being a murderer with being manly.
Maytee is free to get another dog and name him after John Gotti or any other gangster or murderer of her choosing.
Of course Lisa's dog is sad. But I doubt if it's because his name's been changed.
