my feeling is that if danger existed to them personally, it would have sought them out and found them in time. but in this instance, i also feel that murder was not the intent when it started. killing them was not the goal of the night. it just all went horribly wrong. like all of fate, many factors came into play and combined for tragedy. "what if" is the torture of the human mind. we all say "what if". but the "moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on."
