I guess it could be possible that the Uncle stated in public that there was NOT a safe.. just to stop from attracting other scumbags to the house.
I believe she said when she called the uncle from the police station to tell him about the murders alls he said was did they get the safe....so IDK
I also think she said the ex just either broke in and stole 7,800 or just stole 7,800...
