Yes, I thought about them being followed home also but then I thought whoever it was had to have known the layout of the house or knew there was an alarm but sometimes there are alarm stickers in house windows and such from previous owners. It is my understanding and this is not fact that the Straubs alarm was not activated. If they knew the Straubs on an intimate, friends basis they would have known that. I have been baffled by the wires being cut. If the perps knew there was an alarm and since everyone has access to the internet, if I were going to commit a crime and knew the person had an alarm I would either A. look up how a home alarm works or B. Call around acting like I was interested in getting one to ask the questions I needed the answers to. If they had done this they would have found out if the wires were cut it would have triggered the alarm. Unless it was wireless. IMO.
