Wolfhouse, re why Maytee mentioned kidnapping has bothered me also. It was mentioned early on, that
Maytee owed money to someone and she told them that Johnny had it. Maybe she had been warned that
if they didn't get their money, they would kidnap Johnny and hold for ransom until she paid her debt.
Maybe this was revenge against Maytee, and not J & L.~~~~~~~~~~~kill her firstborn and his girl.
As to basement tied with towels; i think she was telling dispatcher a lot of stuff to get attention of LE
or she misunderstood what her husband had told her in all the chaos.
