Sonny, if any evidence was inadvertently compromised by Johnny's father, it was before the police arrived, they can't be faulted for not preserving the scene before they got there. i am sure they secured the scene immediately after arriving.
prints and DNA would still be present, even with Johnny's father removing the plastic. his prints can be eliminated from consideration during inspection of items.
