ROSSOFRD, OH (WTOL) - There's new hope in solving the double murder of a young Springfield Township couple.
The family of victim Lisa Straub has set up a special tip line hoping an arrest will be made in the case.
Her uncle, Jim Verbosky, says the family trusts the investigation that continues by the Lucas County Sheriff's Department. But they're frustrated there hasn't been much movement in the case.
Any new information generated by the new tip line will be passed along to the Sheriff's Department.
"Somebody talked and somebody is scared to come forward with information. But there definitely is somebody out there that has information that could solve this case," says Verbosky.
Johnny Clarke, 21, and Lisa Straub, 20, were found dead inside the home of Lisa's parents on January 31 in Springfield Township. The two had their wrists bound by duct tape and plastic bags covering their heads.
Authorities say this was not a random act of violence and that Johnny and Lisa were targeted. Robbery is believed to be the motive.
"They weren't just killed. Somebody put their hands around their neck and they died instantly. They struggled for their last breath. Somebody out there strangled them to death," Verbosky said.
The tip line number is 419-669-5246.
