But then there is California...Charles Manson was sentenced to death but that sentence was commuted to life in prison in 1972 when the supreme court temporarily abolished the death penalty. Since then, California now has the death penalty, but it does not look like Charles Manson was ever placed back on it. Lets hope more states are like NM instead of CA.
