I have been wondering this myself. After seeing the news footage of Johnny's friends take the stand and talk about how they began distancing themselves from Johnny due to his escalating drug use, I started to think maybe J&L had graduated to heroin. In the world these guys live in, percocets and oxys (pills) are viewed as "clean" since they are manufactured in a lab bought in a pharmacy at some point before hitting the street. As backwards as it seems, most friends don't have a problem with this. The high $ of pills, and their availability (or lack thereof) is what causes users to start heroin, which is considered dirty and would cause friends to push away.
Besides - haven't we heard that T W was a heroin dealer at some point?
