However . . . isn't "Big John" a convicted felon?

I've always been under the impression that he is so something left me with that. We have his rap sheet as well as Maytee's & Johnny's so I'll take a look at his and see what I can find.

Someone else reading this may already know without looking, if you do, post it up.

John's record was brought up in the Pettaway trial after Tiffany testified that John had a gun when she and Zach drove him to the Straubs. John disputed that in his testimony, but said he said he carried a knife that he ditched (and was later found) in a snowpile outside the Straub home. His explanation for hiding it was because he didn't want to get caught with it when police arrived, due to his felony record. He also said his reason for having the knife was because he didn't trust Tiffany and Zach.
