The media reports I've seen don't make it seem like everyone is gay. They're pretty accurate in positioning gays as a minority pushing for equal rights. Anyway, if 2% of the U.S. population is gay, that still equates to 6.5 million people.
I don't think there are any serious future monetary consequences. The things you mentioned won't put 2% extra cost on heterosexuals just because 2% more of the population can now marry.
For that to be accurate, every gay person would have to get married and be married at the same time, no gay adults would be paying SS or insurance or taxes already, and there wouldn't be any increased revenue associated with gay marriages.
