I never put my life on the line. Once I went on deck in the North Atlantic and grabbed a first line that was lobbed over for the third time and I was getting sick of waiting for a good throw because I came off a late watch and was pissed. I went from the second deck to the first that was awash with waves and brought the line up to the stupid Lieutenant on the second deck after he bitched at me for going down and getting the stupid thing. The second and third line came across and we finally refueled and proceeded back to the convoy It was a rough night and I had a hard time eating the next day.
