I don't think so. He may face lesser charges, but he'll do some time. Nothing is going to justify shooting through the bathroom door without taking any other rational measures first, in my opinion.
Prosecution argued again today that even if Pistorius thought it was an intruder in the toilet, he planned to kill whoever was on the other side when there were other courses of action at his disposal. They also argued how illogical it was to assume that it was an intruder and not to check on Reeva first.
