There's a bill on the House floor...

Sorry, but for me it's less about guns and more about the amount of energy being expended on a 'problem' that statistically isn't much of an issue.

We've got far bigger problems in this country to be wasting time and resource on.

I'm not against it, I just have an opinion about it. I'm not against anything that will save innocent lives.

They might not be designed to kill, but most of those things in my questionnaire are FAR deadlier to children than firearms.

But keep flailing around chanting 'guns guns guns guns guns'. It's like watching a monkey fling shit at the zoo.

I don't see many massacres being committed with the use of a plastic bag or swimming pool.

Being called a shit flinger by someone who flings so much shit the walls most be coated with it is rich.

What makes the lives of the victims of a mass shooting any more valuable than the lives of those killed one at a time? Yes mass shootings look bad because there are many lives lost at one time, but mass shootings account for just a small percentage of all murders. I don't see why the other forms of murder should be overlooked while the mass shootings are focused on so heavily.

The anti-gun nuts will be here shortly to dispute that. Wait for it....

Not as small a percentage as murder by swimming pool and murder by plastic bag.

Who the hell said other forms of murder should be overlooked? I sure as hell didn't.

Gun massacres tend to be focused on more because they are MASSACRES! Only terrorist attacks can match or outdo just how deadly and devastating gun massacres are.

Like I've said before so called anti gun “nuts” don't go on the rampage with assault weapons whereas all spree killers are gun “nuts” its the one thing they all have in common. An unhealthy and obsessive fascination with firearms.

An anti-gun nutcase was caught counting the boston bomber and a bunch of criminals that got shot by police in the numbers he came up with when exploiting the numbers of violent gun acts. The investigation continues.

I agree there. Plastic bags would be funny if it were not for the number of infants/small children that actually lose their life that way. However, knife crimes have got to be right up there with gun crimes [I cant say yet I am still looking for those stats] and I dont see anyone calling for background checks to buy a knife.

Interesting you should use those two examples... because when it comes to unintentional deaths a child is 10 times more likely to drown or 10 times more likely to be suffocated than killed by a firearm. And let's not even talk about vehicles, which are 50 times more likely to kill kids.

If you are looking at the end result of mortality, accidental firearms - or even spree killings for that matter - are statistically not where resources will do the most good in saving kids.

Apparently to you 'shit' and 'facts' are the same thing. I'll be flinging them all day long, because in this case facts trump emotion.

Kids get killed ACCIDENTALLY by cars all the time what we are talking about is MURDER not accidental death.

Its not about emotion its about facts and the fact is death by accident and death by design are two completely seperate issues as you know all too well.

So that's another cowpat full of fact flung right back in your face meathead.

A knifes primary function is as a tool to cut food, string, wool etc not as a weapon to stick in someones belly.

An assault weapons sole and primary function is to put as many people in bodybags as efficiently and quickly as possible.

The intended use of a item is irrelevant. What matters is how a individual actually uses that item. That tired old its not its intended function excuse don't hunt.

A knife was also designed as a weapon and has ben for centuries [being a ninja I would have thought you would have known that]. Edged weapons have ben in use for battle far longer than firearms ever thought of being. Some knifes are designed for fighting and some are designed for eating. Just like firearms. Some are designed for fighting and some are designed for filling the stew pot.

Yeah that's my point, a knife has a none lethal use as a tool a gun doesn't.

Also last time i checked ninjas used swords not kitchen knives.

A blade is a blade is a blade. Some are just a little larger is all. They all can kill. Just like firearms, some are larger. They all can kill when misused.

The only people who NEED assault weapons are soldiers, SWAT teams and spree killers.

And nothing anybody says is going to change that simple fact.
