OK, up here north of the city of Rochester is Lake Ontario. On the edge of the lake is Ontario Beach Park. On said park is a 110 year od historic carousel. This past July, some people took a lok at said 110 year old carousel and decided that one image was racist, and MUSt be removed now.

So, let me see, two weeks ago there was a drive by at a local boys and girls club, where there had just been a basketball game. 3 Young men were killed, 4 injured. For being at a basketball game.
But it is more important to remove a century old image.

I don't think anyone would bat an eye if it were white kids. I'm not even going to ask what the hell is wrong with people any more.

No, I don't see it as racist.

White people use to sick the roosters and other yard birds on the black childrens to scare them back to their field work, but since it's 110 years old I see it more as history than racist.

I didn't know that. The practice (not the panel) was definitely racist and if I owned the carousel and black families felt it was scaring their kids or something, I'd consider removing that panel and donating it to a museum. But, that would be my personal and business choice.

Anyway, I wanted to see what kinds of other weird panels were still out there on carousels; I'm sure there are some that depict subjugation of women, spooky looking white kids, etc.. But, I got distracted when I came across these items.

^16th century male chastity belt. Is it sexist? If not, I'd like to propose bringing them back and making them mandatory, for Dr. M's sake. No need for abortions, nor sex education classes in schools, nor subsidized birth control, nor sterilization. Lock em up!!!

I didn't come across anything you'd like. But, if you've ever felt like you slave over a hot stove for the family, you're not the first sal.
