OVERPRESCRIBED

She was too messed up to go to my baby shower too, she called me slurring her words like a drunk sailor and said she was sick. You know how embarrassing it is when your own mother doesn't even show up to your baby shower. All my family and friends were asking where my mom is, "oh she's at home all fucked up face down on the floor".

My mother is like a stoic rock of dependability at the centre of my family the thought of her getting off her face or acting irresponsibly is just completely alien to me.

She is like a Samurai. A sleeping lioness, step on her tail at your peril.

Not my mom. She ran out of pills and they won't refill them until Saturday so she called her doctor and lied that she can't sleep and got a prescription for Temazepam in the mean time. It's a strong sleeping pill and now she's sitting in her wheel drooling all over herself like a zombie. She just called me a fuck face because I didn't get her ice water on time and is cussing me out because I wont give her another one, I just gave her two of them a couple of hours ago. You're only supposed to take one a day at bedtime. I'm about to wheel that old bitch out to the curb right about now.

In a way I'm glad my mom passed quickly before she got that way. It has to be hard to deal with after you took her into your home.

Well this has happened on several occasions even before she had an illness, so it's makes it harder not to get annoyed now that she actually is sick.

It's not fair that she's waking my kids up at 5 in the morning to get her pills either, this is after I gave her two before she went to sleep and leave her two more on the night stand. I don't even want them getting her pills because I'm scared they're going to drop one and the baby could find it. She's driving me fucking nuts.

I hate to even say it. But maybe it's time for a nursing home. For her own good really. And so you can have some peace.

I agree.

Let the staff of a nursing home look after her drugged up ass at least they get paid for doing it.

Sally deserves those beers in the evening. I'd be a wreck if I had all those concerns every single day.

No one wants to put a parent in a home but there comes a time when priorities shift. Sally already had a full plate when her Mom moved in. She has a toddler, teenagers, a husband, a business, her home and now her Mom & all the issues that accompany that. That's a lot! Glug Glug Glug
