Had the same sort of experience with my dad. He was always bigger than life to me, at 6'3" and 260 and strong as hell. I have never seen anyone that could hit anything as hard as he could with a hammer. Saw him knock an axle out of an 18 wheeler tractor once, it shot out the other side and slid 30 or 40 feet across the shop floor, it weighed about 300 lbs.
Couple years age he was here and we were out back shooting arrows at a target and he had trouble pulling my 50lb bow, disheartning.
He is 86 and still today working in the oil field in Bolivia on big ass machines.
He will probably drop dead with an impact wrench in his hand.
The Boliviana he is married to (my age) takes care of him, says she and her family want to keep him there when its time.
