I absolutely think that man is entitled to his opinion. He was sitting for an interview and replied to the interviewer's question, he wasn't spouting his belief on his show. Like someone else said, anyone who watches the show or feels like they "know" these people know what their thought is on it without it being said.
Right now I'm not even thinking about what the guy said about gays, I'm thinking about conservative Christians and their high horse attitude in regards to gays. Don't call yourself a God-fearing, God loving person and then turn around and tell people their love is wrong, just don't, it's bullshit. Gays have as much right to love who they choose as any goddamn heterosexual. General statement and not directed at any one person.

You don't understand that I am referring to how the public reacts when this kind of thing is brought to light? There are enough instances to recite where this has happened before, high profile people are aware of this, if they don't, they are genuinely stupid.
I don't know about anyone else but A & E certainly has the right. It's their network, not to mention they sign the paycheck.

In all seriousness, I don't have a problem with freedom to be a twat. I don't have a problem with what the man said, that's his belief. Everyone should be able to voice their opinion without fear of repercussion but it doesn't work that way & yeah, it's sucky but it is what it is.

The duck folks have never said or done anything on the show that remotely resembles any form of bigotry that I have seen.
They had a successful business in play Way before A&E came to town, I think they will be just fine when A&E leaves. You may play frog when the boss hollers Jump, but a lot of people don't.
I wore a uniform along with several million other folks so that Everyone in this country has the protected rights that they have.

Like HotD I must be living under a rock because I never heard of Duck Dynasty until now. My husband even knew about it. I'm not against gay marriage and Conservative Christians mostly annoy me, but I find the PC crap with the homosexuals equally annoying. The guy was asked a question and answered honestly, but unfortunately for him A&E feels it's not in their best interest to get the homos all bent out of shape.

A&E Duck Dynasty marathon last night. Viewership is down 71% from what they normally have. They usually have 8 million viewers, last night they had 2 million.
These people have a half a BILLION dollar company, they don't need A&E...A&E needs them.
A&E have screwed themselves royally.

"Stars" as they are called, are highly visable and what they say and do is heard and seen by many. With that comes the responsibility of knowing what is wise to say and what should be kept to yourself. Ignorance is no excuse. Being a Christian does not free you from the consequences of your stupidity. Years ago if a "Star" was gay he kept it to himself knowing how that fact being made public might negatively affect his career. Today that has changed. Now expressing your bigoted ideas in public is not embraced in the same way being openly gay wasn't embraced years ago. The pendulum has swung the other way and it cuts both ways.

Maybe I'm being too stereotypical here, but I thought you're average Duck Dynasty viewer would be fairly redneck-ish. I would also think it's a fair stereotypical comment to make that your average redneck isn't really out there pushing for gay rights..
So if I'm The A&E CEO, why would I cut the head off my goose (or duck as it may seem) that lays the golden eggs here? Wouldn't a bullshit press statement about how the comments were misinterpreted (yeah I know, they were clear enough, but we're stereotyping rednecks here) and sweep it all up in a neat little pile Hollywood style be the play? Then release a few DD special edition T shirts and do a few charity events with kids to deflect the attention.
