Tell him to never love anything. Tell him the world is an awful place where everyone just wastes time until they're dead. Tell him that trying is the first step toward failure, so aim low... so low that nobody will even care if he succeeds.

With any luck... he'll aim to prove you wrong.

My husband is out of town for two weeks for work training, I've had all three boys alone. The twins still aren't sleeping through the night....Mock was my therapy today. Sometimes I miss working at a boring office job that allowed me to be here more often.

I often think being a Mom must be the hardest job in the world. If you stay at home with them you are trapped without adult conversation/interaction, if you're a working Mom then you not only have your 9-5 job but you have a whole other job once you get home, cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. Ugh.

I'd be lying if I said it was easy. I've done both. I'm enjoying staying home but I'm experiencing exactly what you said, I crave adult interaction. There's only so much you can talk about with a 6 year old and two 1 year olds.

Louis CK does a great bit about that. He says that everything his daughter says is wonderful and amazing and special... but he could make it in life never actually hearing anything she says. He's talking about like, carrying one kid through a crowd in NY city, dragging the other kid behind him by the arm, his daughter says something, what's he gonna do, stop rushing where he's going, put the other kid down, kneel down in a NYC crowd, telling pedestrians "no excuse me, my daughter is talking!"

And then he leans down and cups his ear to hear her, and says, "Yeah that's right sweetie, sometimes dogs are brown."

Duch, I bought a really good Samsung, I am so pleased with it. I have also bought these sportzbeats headphones with blue tooth. So when I am on the phone i can talk handsfree and talk and talk and talk. Also, it has a great range, so I don't even need to be anywhere near the phone. it's great. I wonder how your new phone is going, whether you have gotten used to it.

Well...it works as it should. I don't have anything bad to say about it. I just don't like a phone in general. I don't carry it around with me like most people carry theirs, it's a goddamn ball & chain but it's a necessity. It spends most of the time on my desk. I didn't realize it was set for weather warnings and in the peace and quiet of my office the other day it began to BEEP BEEP BEEP in a high pitched tone and you could have peeled me off the ceiling.

This story is interesting to me because of who the judge is & how he wields his power -

The same judge and prosecutor who let professional football star Ray Rice avoid a trial after beating his wife unconscious are pushing forward with the prosecution of Shaneen Allen, a single mother who carried a gun into New Jersey without realizing her Pennsylvania permit didn't apply there.

Allen, a mother of two from Philadelphia, was driving in New Jersey last fall when she was pulled over by a police officer. She informed the officer she had a handgun in her purse and a Pennsylvania license-to-carry permit, at which point the officer arrested her and charged her with a felony for unlawful possession of a weapon, because New Jersey does not recognize out-of-state gun permits.

Allen tried to avoid a trial and jail time by applying to a pre-trial intervention program in New Jersey for first-time offenders. Ray Rice, the Baltimore Ravens running back who knocked his then-fiancee unconscious during an altercation in Atlantic City in February, was accepted into the program in May.

But Superior Court Judge Michael Donio and New Jersey District Attorney Jim McClain, the same judge and prosecutor who allowed Rice to avoid prosecution, denied Allen's application to the program on Wednesday.
