There is a scientific basis why homosexual men, blacks, and junkies were hit harder with aids than other groups of people. Homosexual men and blacks in general have more sexual partners than other groups of people. And in the case of the junkies it's pretty self explanatory. It's not rocket science.

It's not a mystery why the homosexual community in Key West was nearly wiped out in the 80's. They have several hotels there where gay men meet up to fuck each other in the ass.

High risk behaviours such as IV drug use and unprotected sex does not equate to homosexuality causing AIDS. There may be higher incidence of unprotected sex in the homosexual community due the fact that in the 80s condoms were mainly used as forms of contraceptives and this was seen as an unnecessary appendage during homosexual sex.

I had a friend who was HIV+, he was a gay man who contracted the virus through unprotected sex. But his homosexuality had nothing to do with him contracting the virus, it was the unprotected sex. You can also contract it through vaginal sex Sally, not just anal sex.

You often refuse to provide facts/proof to support your stubborn sweeping (and, frequently, wrong) assertions during a serious discussion, and you've scoffed at those who provide them to you proactively or who request them of you. Now, you want scientific results from others to support what's common knowledge?

Sally's right on this one. The scale of the AIDS epidemic and the demographics of those affected differs from region to region. But, three decades into the epidemic and with many advancements in treatment and management, men who have sex with men are still the most impacted (no pun intended) in most regions.

In North America, 2% of the population is gay men - but 57% of the newly infected are gay men, with African-American homosexual men being the largest growing sector. That's a fact, a sad one, but a fact nonetheless. In Latin America and Asia, homosexual men also account for the largest portion of the newly infected.

And, yes, drug injectors and sex workers of all races and sexual orientations are at or near the highest portion of the population of newly affected across all regions.
