That could apply to you! Why do you care who he was fucking? Leave the poor man rest in peace. You are a hypocrite. PSH was a lovely man who made the world a better place through his art. Who he was or was not screwing is none of my business and certainly none of yours.

You're a giant clown.

I just got done saying I don't care if he's gay or not.

My entire point was that the Enquirer would not have run with a story without some sort of truth there.

Even with the retraction and all, I'm guessing there was some truth.

And sure, PSH was a celebrated actor, but for you to say the world is a better place?

To quote CN: What a mong.

You are the mong, not me tard. If you don't give a shit, why would you even make a remark like that ^. Clearly you do. It just means I add homophobe (in denial of course) to your distinguished list of qualifications.

HotD, I'm sure you're a fine person.

However, you write paragraphs it would seem in just about every thread and it feels like most of your posts come from the angle of: 'Ive got the answer."

That's great... and annoying, all at the same time. 'great' because you're clever with your words, 'annoying' because, well, people that have all the answers all the time are...

Anyhow, as I stated to Aussie, I'm not trying to kick PSH while he's down (and anyone who dies of a heroin overdose is definitely down). Gay or not, not the issue to me.

Simply the act of publishing something. In today's world, you have to be very careful, and I can't see any RAG being so careless as to print what they did.

This is all.

As PSH's buddy said, 'Im not pissed about being called gay, after all we were in the theatre business.'

Katz was upset about the insinuation that he was doing drugs with PSH.

Your labeling and name calling is legendary.

Too bad you're just an angry Mong.

^you are the one labelling and name calling including 'where there's smoke there's fire' reference to someone being gay. I am far from mong, sorry to disappoint you. You misogynist homophobic moron. You are dismissed.

I do contribute a lot and I know I'm wordy. Guilty as charged.

It doesn't bother me that you find me annoying, MS. Not everybody is gonna like everybody else's style.

As for having all the answers, as I said, I often find myself acknowledging that I don't know, but "I think", or it's "my opinion". Not only at Mock, but in life.

Maybe it makes you feel the way it does because when I weigh in and say what I think or take an opposing position, I usually support it with reasons. It's not my style to insist or state things as certainties or absolutes when I don't know that they are (that's your style), but it's definitely my nature to support an opinion or argument with rationale.

There...I acknowledge understanding your opinion of me and I've addressed it, MS. Your disapproval is not a problem for me; you not finding me attractive more like a blessing. That's gonna have to be enough for you.

HotD, I'm only surmising on the PSH story.

Not stating as absolute fact.

Just a hunch on my part.

Of course, you're free to disagree, but your style is to swoop in with 'the final answer'.

You refuted my hunch with all your stats, but, at the end of the day, my 'hunch' could still be right. Just because the Enquirer retracted, etc., doesn't mean that, behind the scenes, some arrangement wasn't made.

And no, I don't care if Philip was in a relationship with a man. Not my point.

Oh! someone else sees it!

That's cool.

Now let me watch midwest identify the way me and hotdog are similar.

“I'm not like you and let me talk endless bollocks about how I'm not?”

When I don't give a fuck you know I walk away and say “I've said what I want to say” don't comment on something you don't claim to care about you idiot.

As hotdog and Crash do endlessly “I don't care and here's how much I don't care with this planned endless rant!”

Jesus, MS.

I posted an update to a story that you initially posted. You told me definitively that there has to be some truth to the original since-debunked story because The National Enquirer said so (even though they've retracted).

Now, you're saying you only stated it as a hunch. No matter - I think you were being a gossipy, gullible, know-it-all about the personal life of a man that you don't know based on about the most silly justification imaginable. You get to do that here and I get to comment on you doing that here. Big whoop.

I already said that I don't know or care if the content was true; I know that the people behind the story have confessed that their story was bogus, claiming that they were scammed by a liar. That's a fact. That was the point and that was the "update". I never claimed to know about the personal life of Mr. Hoffman, or even expressed a hunch about it - as is clearly reflected in our exchange.

Don't address comments to me directly if you're gonna feel "swept in on" when I respond honestly. Simple.

Of the hundreds of stories that they run per month, The National Enquirer gets one right every now and again, like the John Edwards story.

It's sold right in front of the check-out lanes at my local Safeway store and I sometimes check it out while I wait, it's amusing fodder.

The pieces that are the least amusing, to me, are the ones exploiting someone's (alleged) illness or fresh death -- based on what the Enquirer's paid unnamed unvetted sources supposedly told their reporters. Some of the rag's classics.

All on tape...yep.

I hope cops keep searching for that dude in a dark hood traipsing around some leafy undisclosed area with a garbage bag...maybe Caylee will actually get some justice some day.

Unless the Enquirer and Hoffman's best friend are both lying, the best friend never gave the rag an interview.

I don't agree that, in this day and age, a publication wouldn't release a story unless it was based in truth. I think the National Enquirer, specifically, has and would and will again release salacious false stories to generate sales and hits.

In this day and age, even generally credible news outlets that don't pay anonymous tipsters as their primary "sources", like CNN, release some false shit and have to retract when called on it.

hah Yeah, I expect that she'll probably make it there one of these days, too. Not sure it takes much investigative reporting to come to that conclusion, though.

I've said this before and it's what I truly believe, there is a tremendous difference between thinking you know something & actually KNOWING something. I am endlessly amazed by the number of seemingly intelligent people who are ready to believe whatever they are told, it's like actual facts make no difference to them, they will run with whatever has been imparted to them and swear it's true.

Well, there actually is a David Katz (a freelance sports writer) who talked to the National Enquirer right after Hoffman's death.

[Image: article-0-1BE676AE00000578-973_636x382.jpg]
The headline, the fake Katz (top), the real Katz

Apparently, the imposter was bombarded with calls from media trying to get their hooks into the best friend who found Hoffman dead; David Bar Katz. Vultures - not surprising.

The imposter says he was drunk watching the Superbowl. He admits talking to reporters, but doesn't remember everything he said - like the "gay lovers" part.

The only publications that bought the imposter's story were the National Enquirer and Cindy Adams, New York Post gossip columnist (her's was just a quick reference to an interview, AFAIK).

Bar Katz's lawyer is not disclosing the amount of the settlement from the Enquirer, but says he's going after the imposter for everything he's worth. The imposter kept his client from going to visit loved ones and consoling Hoffman's family because he was holed up, trapped by an army of paparazzi staking out his home after the unvetted "exclusive interview" story was circulated by the Enquirer.

Part of the settlement is going to fund theater works that Hoffman felt passionate about, and the record is set straight that Bar Katz didn't talk shit to reporters after finding his friend dead. So, all's well...

Cause of Death Released

Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, who was found dead February 2 on the bathroom floor of his New York apartment with a syringe in his left arm, died of acute mixed drug intoxication, including heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines and amphetamine, the New York medical examiner's office said Friday.

The manner of death was ruled an accident, the medical examiner's office said in a statement.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN's chief medical correspondent, said that as addicts take mixtures of drugs more chronically, they may not necessarily feel the effects of the narcotics, which still suppress the respiratory system.

"They're not feeling it, but it's still having an impact on their ability to breathe, and that's the real problem," he said. "It's called stacking. You can stack the same drug too close together, or you can start to stack other drugs, one on top of the other. That's how people get into trouble. They do call it accidental death as well."
