COPS ARE LURKING
#1

Have you ever flashed your lights at an oncoming driver to alert them to cops in the area? A federal judge has just ruled that it falls under the protection of your right to free speech. Good job, judge! No more tickets for that.

I have not but I've been flashed before. I'm glad you can't get a ticket for it. The cops hide trying to catch you speeding. Why shouldn't we earn one another ?

I've never flashed, but I've been flashed. I never think about it until they already passed me. Plus if you're going 15-20 miles over the speed limit you should be pulled over. I normally go 5-10 over the speed limit and sometimes more on the highway just keeping with the flow of traffic. But never anything ridiculous to get me pulled over. I've never been stopped by a cop for just doing 5-10 over the limit. I've done that with them right behind me, I figure they probably get annoyed when they get behind someone that does the exact speed limit, especially if it's 25.

I've flashed & been flashed. The only place I haven't warned people is on my road. I want them to get caught. We have speed traps frequently on this road and I support that. It was a lot better when we had a crappy country road but since it's been widened and freshly paved it's like the goddamn freeway.

Flashed, been flashed, I think its a good thing. If the idea is to get people to slow down and thereby make it safer out there then being obvious would IMO be a better solution that a speed trap. The cop or HP sitting on the side of the road with lights flashing always makes everyone slow down.
If on the other hand the object is to load up the coffers, then a speed trap is a good way to do it.
Come communities understand this and there is a cop car (with or without officer inside) sitting out in plain sight at the town line or by a school zone.
Others have their cops hiding behind buildings and signs with a laser, I think thats too much.

I don't flash for cops but I will for road hazards like deer. I don't care if somebody gets a ticket but I'd hate to see someone crash.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

I'd warn people, at the back of my mind when I'm driving and see traffic cops I always think “I'm sure there's something more important you could be doing officer”
