Michelle Castillo..murdered by CEO husband
#1
An Ashburn man brutally beat and strangled his estranged wife, then made her death look like a suicide, investigators said.

Braulio Castillo, 43, was charged with first-degree murder Tuesday and is accused of killing Michelle Castillo, a mother of five.

"The evidence shows she was beaten and suffocated before she was found hanging in the downstairs bathroom," said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman. "That hanging was not the cause of her death."

I read his story. He's a POS. They had been separated for a year and she had an order of protection against him. I don't think those things are worth the paper they are written on and it wouldn't surprise me to learn that LE feel the same way.

The paper is not worth the trouble to print. If you do have an order all it does is start some automatic processes IF its violated. The best protection is a handgun and the training to use it. Its sad, but when seconds count, the police are minutes away. That sounds trite, but its a fact, its very hard to protect yourself completely. I had an x that developed a bad habit of coming in my house when I was not there, I had to start using the alarm and cameras. I don't understand why people (women mostly) don't take the measures necessary to ensure they are protected, specially when they have the clear threat that this woman did.

Castillo's another narcissistic asshole like Martin MacNeill and Brett Seacat and all the ones before them. Rather than lose control, they'll just kill their wives, think they can get away with it, and not give a shit how it affects their children.

Castillo probably thinks he's smarter than everyone else, but (assuming he's guilty) he's dumb as a box of rocks. Beat her and strangle her and then try to pass it off as a suicide by hanging?

Michelle Castillo, RIP. Braulio Castillo, husband/accused murderer.

He's a scammer, too. QB's OP article says he was publicly called out on Capitol Hill last year for claiming disabled veteran's status for his company -- based on a high school football injury.

Anyway, very glad that the surveillance video captured him entering the house (in violation of the protective order) the night before Michelle's body was found. If no one else was captured going in and out, it's gonna be hard for him and his defense attorneys to claim that some other dude did it (unless he chooses to blame one of his kids, which I wouldn't put past him).

This sucks. I only came aware of the story because Michelle is the niece of an online friend of mine. Family is fit to be tied.

Michelle's children, her parents, her siblings, her friends and her community must be going through hell.

Her funeral was held today. Sounds like Michelle was an accomplished and compassionate woman who helped a lot of people.

RIP 42

Michelle Lee Castillo, 43 years old, of Ashburn, Virginia, passed away on March 20, 2014. Michelle was born in Warner Robins, Georgia on January 15, 1971. Michelle graduated from Northside High School in Warner Robins, Georgia. She received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia and her Masters Degree in Management of Global Information Technology from the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington, District of Columbia.

Michelle was a loving mother to five children. She actively supported the local and international communities. She regularly served at the Loudoun County Homeless Shelter, went on a mission trip to support Helping Haitian Angels and provided much needed aid to international relief agencies like International Justice Mission and The Water Project. Michelle was married to Braulio Castillo on March 21, 1996. Michelle is survived by her husband, Braulio Castillo and their five children. She is also survived by her mother, her step father, her father, her step mother, her sister, her brother, and numerous family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to one of the charitable donations Michelle support -- The International Justice Mission.

She had a lot to live for.

Virginia has the death penalty and is second only to Texas in number of executions. To avoid all of the legal battles surrounding new lethal injection drug combos, some legislators in Virgina have proposed bringing back the electric chair.

If Braulio Castillo killed his estranged wife (and it sure as hell looks like he did), he may pay for it with his life, if prosecutors and Michelle's family wanna pursue it. He'll be in court again in May.
