Justified shooting
#1
A St. Louis couple is likely thankful to have guns in their home after they were forced to use them to defend their daughter against two men Monday night.

The men, one of whom had an extensive rap sheet, confronted the couples’ 17 year-old daughter after she stepped outside of the house to go to her car, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Cortez McClinton, 33, and Terrell Johnson, 31, held a gun to the girl’s head and used her as a shield as they entered the family home, where a five-year old child was also present.

The girl’s father and mother witnessed the abduction, and both retrieved their guns. When McClinton and Johnson entered, the father fired several shots, hitting both men. The girl’s mother fired one shot but missed.

Johnson died at the scene. McClinton was wounded but was able to scramble off. He had his brother take him to the hospital.

In 2010, McClinton was charged with shooting another man. Charges were eventually dropped due to lack of witness participation. He also had drug possession and distribution charges against him.

McClinton is charged with second-degree murder, kidnapping, burglary, and criminal armed action and is being held on $1 million bond.

THIS IS AN EMERGENCY, FOR REAL!!!

A Florida man called 911 when he, his wife, and his mother-in-law were attacked during a home invasion in Port Richey. The intruders demanded prescription drugs and money.

The 911 operator attempted to transfer the home owner from the fire dept line to the police line, but sent him to voice mail and cut him off.

In his wrongly routed call, the man tells the dispatcher: 'somebody just came into my house, four people just came into my house, they beat the s**** out of me and my wife and my stepmother, then they robbed us. '

Shots were fired at the family, which includes a month old baby. The man (unidentified in media) ultimately managed to get his gun and shot one of the four home invaders in the back. Three of the four intruders have been arrested (the one who was shot, Steven Reverdes, was found first -- hiding under a car) and police are searching for the fourth suspect.

Wanted: Joe Reverdes

Michael Reverdes -31, Steven Reveredes - 33, Joseph Rich - 23

All three are in the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center on home invasion robbery charges, Rich also faces charges of attempted murder and marijuana possession.

Police say the mistake in routing the call didn't delay them (they were dispatched 4 minutes after the call), but that they are investigating the cause of the error.

One of the spate of shootings that took place in Chicago, Ill. over the July 4th holiday weekend involved a veteran with a concealed carry permit who was forced to a shoot a man who began firing on him and a group of friends.

The incident occurred Friday night, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The veteran and three of his friends were leaving a party on the city’s south side. When the group reached their vehicle, a container with liquor was sitting on top of it. A woman from the group asked another group gathered next door who the liquor belonged to and removed it.

The move angered 22 year-old Denzel Mickiel, who approached the veteran and his friends shouting obscenities. The man then went into his residence and returned with a gun.

As Mickiel opened fire on the group, the veteran took cover near the vehicle’s front fender, according to assistant state attorney Mary Hain, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The veteran fired two shots, hitting Mickiel both times.

Two of Mickiel’s friends also began shooting at the group, which was able to flee the scene in their vehicle.

Mickiel was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition. A woman in the veteran’s group was hit twice – once in the arm and once in the back – but was stabilized and taken to the hospital.

Mickiel is charged with attempted murder and will be held on $950,000 bond.

Had Friday’s shooting occurred a little more than a year ago, the veteran would not have been legally permitted to conceal carry his firearm.

My take on this:
For taking someone else's drink off your own car this thug pulls a gun, protection is needed and the thug should not have had a gun......its illegal.

Good for him. I fully endorse citizens like him carrying a weapon. He's very lucky he had it, otherwise him and his friends could be dead.

Elkins, 54, is from Chesapeake, Ohio. He's charged with aggravated murder.

Day before yesterday, Elkins came home to find his buddy Ricky Crager, 57, "with his wife".

The men exchanged words before Elkins put two bullets into Ricky's chest on the front porch.

"They was best friends. They've known each other since they was eight or ten," neighbor James Mullins tells WSAZ. Mullins says he could hear Crager pleading for his life from across the street.

"When I heard him say, 'Bill don't hit me,' I knew it wasn't just somebody out there shooting. I came down off the hill, got here and heard him say, 'Bill don't shoot me.' Then I heard another gunshot and it went silent. I mean it was just the dead of the night," Mullins said.

I can't find a photo of the cheatin' wife or the deceased. For some reason, I really wanna see them.

Anyway, some might consider it a justified shooting, I think.

So, this was as good a thread as any to post the story. 79

Two feet they come a creepin'
Like a black cat do
And two bodies are layin' naked
A creeper think he got nothin' to lose
So he creeps into this house, yeah
And unlocks the door
And as a man's reaching for his trousers
Shoots him full of thirty-eight holes
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.
