I live a thousand miles away from my family so I don't have that problem but I've heard some of my friends have the same complaint. You're right, it's sucky.

9 times out of 10 its for money, now I just let it go to voicemail. I can just about tell from the tone of voice "hey, can you call me back right away I have a question for you..."

Some people have no family. To them, a family of assholes is better than what they have. I have a friend who's entire family died in a house fire on Xmas while he was at work. Whenever I feel like bitching about family he immediately comes to mind.

Unfortunately, some people have a family of living assholes. Who treat each other as if the other was dead, and thereby have no interaction with each other what so ever, so it is tantamount to them being dead.
