YOU HAVE A PROBLEM?

Does this picture make you feel irate? Do you view it as disrespectful?

Some people are pissed!

Here's a couple examples of the kind of comments it's getting -

"The flag is not a prop. ... To use the American flag in such a way is disrespectful, rude, tacky, disgusting, and against the U.S. Flag Code."

'go kill yourself,' 'you don't deserve to be a veteran,'

What do you think?

No, I do not have a problem with the image and I don't think its disrespectful at all. I see it as a dedication to the next generation and a promise to keep our world safe.
Attitudes like the comenter you quoted sound Way too much like the Muslim assholes running around out there Demanding that Everyone elso on the planet believe and treat the prophet the same as they do.

Whoa! Nicely said, Six.

Yeah, I view it more as a patriotic statement. Sort of: "my child and a child of the United States".

He's not burning the flag or dragging it on the ground or anything. I'm more pissed at my neighbors. They leave their flag out which is just fine and dandy but the damn thing is all torn up and in tatters. Maybe they're trying to make their own statement but every time I see it, I think about delivering them a new god damn flag, stupid cheapskates.

ETA: I was curious about the "Flag Code":

'No disrespect should be shown to the Flag of the United States of America.' Therefore, actions not specifically included in the Code may be deemed acceptable as long as proper respect is shown.

There's nothing in the code about putting a baby in a flag sling ergo, it should be deemed acceptable. Stupid people say stupid things.

Or "protected by this flag and what stands behind it" I think the photo is brilliant and also agree with six.

Me neither. It's more respectful than a redneck in American flag clothing.

It makes me very irate! I think the father ought to be court-martialed. As a military man, he should know better than to use the flag in such an unconventional manner. However, the baby is too young to be held accountable for the despicable misuse of the American flag -- he doesn't deserve punishment, but should be placed in foster care immediately, IMO.

^ This little shit, on the other hand, is old enough to know better and should have his public breast-feeding privileges suspended for at least a day. Look at that smirk; he knows what he's doing and thinks he's gonna get away with it.

^ As for this kid -- well, he should be confined to his play pen with only two meals a day for at least a week for daring to covet the American flag like that. That'll give him some time to think about what he's done (plus, it'll make MS feel safer -- he can just tell the little dude is well on his way to becoming a thug and a menace to society).
