JUST HOW FAR...

How far should a school's reach extend? I ask this because kid's are being penalized for things they say and/or do off campus.

Many of you are parents, would you be okay with faculty creepin' on your kid's open social media pages and then using what they find to punish your child?

I get that kids need to be aware of what they are putting out there for public consumption but I don't like that they can be punished for their opinions.

Its not their opinions they are being punished for, its their actions. There is a big difference.
You can't just post up a bunch of bullshit about a teacher and expect no consequences.
Most of what I have seen it seems that way at least.

One could say its needed to vet out the ones that may walk in one day and shoot a bunch of people. But to punish them for speaking their opinion is wrong that's why facebook sucks.

I was inspired to ask that question after reading about the student responding to a teacher who posted that only 10% of voters turned out to vote and the student's response was that the remaining 90% were illegal. I feel like that kid is entitled to her opinion. Why wouldn't she be? Is it because adults feel like it's inappropriate? Why are teachers allowed to discern that?

This isn't the first time a student has been punished for their opinion and I view that as bullshit.

It bothers me when people are punished for their opinions. I feel like everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and should be allowed to express them. I don't always agree with someone's opinion but I would never say they aren't entitled to it.

She was right though, I've been to Revere a bunch of times and the place is over run with Somalians. none of them speak English and the crime rate has zoomed up over 20% It used to be a great place to go fishing for sea bass but if you go now its best to be in a group. As individuals they are fine but once they get into groups they get pushy and try and take what you are carrying or your fishing pole or whatever you have. It sucks. I'm surprised a riot hasn't broken out.
In a group they will harass women that are walking by if they are alone. They especially like to mess with middle school and high school girls. A friend of mine has a Daughter that cannot walk down the main st anymore.

They're like gypsies. As a group they behave like monkeys. It would suck to have to live around them.
