The entire World is rooting for Hillary and waiting with bated breath with the fear that the dufus Trump will win in a rigged election......If the US economy tanks, so then does the economy of the World.....very bad thing.......not to mention the number of businesses, real estate, corporations, etc owned by foreign entities......Trump could actually damage the World's economic health...

I know your question isn't a literal one, crash. But, this American only has a literal answer at this point.

We had an election and the candidate running against the status quo and the Democratic and Republican establishments got the most electoral votes.

Clearly, and contrary to what Trump's been claiming, the mainstream media didn't determine the election outcome, nor was the outcome rigged by the ballot/electoral system.

It's very comparable to Brexit, in my opinion, right down to the similarities between Boris Johnson and Donald Trump.

Anyway, there are obviously a lot of people in this country who feel the government has let them down for a long time. I don't think they're necessarily wrong, it's their experience and perception. Even though I greatly disagree with their choice of change agent, I'm hoping the change turns out to be for the better (or at least not for the worse) domestically and globally.

Anyway, I don't think America will really know what we've done until after the dust settles.

Once again your response to a somewhat irrational, filippant comment of mine is rational, loyal and literally elegant..

This last part is a really good summary for an outsider, thanks.

Side note: The Canadian immigration website has crashed due to inundation of enquiries. Not even joking..

hah Canada's gonna have to build a wall!

Thanks for not slapping me around for responding seriously to a clearly rhetorical question. I was practicing. I'm going to be answering basically that same question when the kid gets home from work in about an hour. This was the first election of her adulthood and she's been following it with me since the primaries. She is extremely disheartened with the outcome.

Time to keep some cash on the sideline in case the market tanks....then it's time for another spending spree.. Smiley_emoticons_fies

After market closing yesterday, my stocks (usually quite steady) were "up" $3.05, not a killing, but not a loss.

Market bounced back here today too. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm going to leave mine in cash still for a little while. I looked at the 300 most popular stocks on the ASX today and nobody was buying any real volume.

Methinks there will still be bargains to be had in the coming month or two..

User . . . I'll be in Hawaii for three weeks. Leaving on Thanksgiving.

Oahu for 10 days. Big Island for a week then back to Oahu for the Pearl Anniversary.

If you're so inclined, maybe a rendezvous?

Diving, SUP and kayaking are on the agenda for the Big Island. Will be with two of my brothers and at least one niece.

And hanging with local friends.

Just a thought . . .

Absolutely if we could do it but it sounds like you're going to arrive on the Big Island the day we're scheduled to leave (11/30). Am I right? You can pm me if you want. I'd have to check in to it but I'd consider puddle jumping for a day.

I did not like Honolulu (except for the Pearl Harbor excursion). The freeway system in the city is akin to any big city, nasty, traffic snarled mess. We found some beautiful beaches out of the way but we stayed in the thick of the resorts there and going anywhere...bah. I just didn't like the grid lock. But I'd go there for part of a day to meet you up with you. Smiley_emoticons_smile

Agreed. The markets are driven by peoples emotions and there is a Lot of that floating around out there. The couple stocks I had with stops on them popped out and I made a little on them so it worked the way it was supposed to. I bought back in at the bottom of the bounce and am back in the $ on them again.
Next couple months will be bumpy, but we are going into the holiday season and it always is, so...
