TRUMP IMPEACHMENT
(11-16-2019, 06:59 AM)Duchess Wrote: One of my favorite moments during the hearing yesterday was president nitwit engaging in witness tampering at nearly the same moment his pal Roger was being convicted of...wait for it...witness tampering. Go, trump, go.

That disparaging (and inaccurate) tweet from Trump about Yovanovitch during her testimony was surreal and stupid.

It displayed the same kind of unprofessional, conspiracy-theorist, vengeful mindset that Trump is accused of harboring in his alleged abuse of power regarding aid to Ukraine.  It definitely hurts rather than helps his case, in my opinion.

You'd think his lawyers (with the exception of Giuliani) would have the good sense to advise him against lashing out like that during the proceedings.  Maybe they did and he couldn't restrain himself.

Anyway, he's accusing everyone who doesn't refuse to comply with subpoenas or lie of being 'losers' and 'never-Trumpers'.

^ That's Jennifer Williams, a special adviser and top aide to Vice President Mike Pence on Europe and Asia. The transcript of her previous closed-door deposition was released this weekend.  https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedf...letter.pdf

She listened in on the July 25th phone call between Trump and Ukraine President Zelensky and took notes at the time which described the call as "unusual and inappropriate.”

Williams told investigators that Trump's request for investigations seemed 'politically motivated' and “shed some light on possible other motivations”.

So.........Trump tweeted that she's obviously a 'never-Trumper' and should read the transcripts.

Anyway, she's set to testify tomorrow.  Hopefully, the President can refrain from more reality show type drama during the official proceedings, but it won't be surprising if he does it again.

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman is a purple heart recipient who has risked his life for America. He's an honorable, truth teller. The US Army has been forced to relocate him & his family after attacks by trump and others in the GOP. I hope all those cocksuckas go up in flames.

I salute Lt. Col. Vindman. He's a patriot, he put our country above himself.

Just imagine what would be said about a woman if she conducted herself like Jim Jordan does. Seriously, imagine that.

I'm really enjoying the fact that the two witnesses that the Rs wanted (Morrison and Volker) are backing everything up about Trump being corrupt.

I just finished watching today's testimony.

Were it not for Nunes and the other Republican rep heaping praise on them, it would not have been clear that Morrison and (especially) Volker were witnesses requested by the Republicans.

They both confirmed what the non-partisan witnesses put forth; essentially that the congressionally-approved Ukraine aid was inexplicably held up up because, it turned out, Trump was buying into crazy Rudy Giuliani's conspiracy theories and wanted a related political/personal favor first.

Today, Morrison and Volker appeared, to me, to be quite aware of the cost of lying to Congress and getting busted.

Hi Mockers and Fuckers,

I just wanna say I am closely following the Impeachment as many others are around the world. I am so so sorry for the good citizens of the USA. What a terrible thing that has come upon your great country. You guys are a great nation and should not be going through this horrific traumatic ordeal.

The thing is, this corruption and sabotage to your democracy needs to be defended. So it is inevitable that you go through this process. I cannot get over the stupidity. The thing is in order to kick cancer you have to go through chemotherapy and sometimes radiation therapy. You guys are getting a double dose of everything.

I really want justice for the USA. I am sorry you are going through this, but it is necessary in order to protect your country.

Freedom isn't free. Our grandparents fought in WWII for our freedom and we cannot take it for granted, we have to fight when we see someone selling out for their own personal gain.

I am flicking between CNN and Fox News. Such a contrast and that Laura Ingaram is a nasty piece of work. What an awful horrible woman.

Vinnman is definitely a courageous man.

It has been a very depressing time since that tyrant stole the election from my dearest friend Hillary. It has been SO bad it's hard to get out of bed in the morning. Illegal drugs keep me functioning but are so expensive I have to steal.

I know! I feel it over here too.

I remember waiting for your election to be done with so he would just go away with his tail between his legs and then he was announced as the winner. Then it comes out he cheated that's how. He has pushed his luck too far I think.

Can you imagine after all the betrayal to your country, there are people still prepared to vote the same?

I was watching a complete summary of betrayals on CNN as they pieced it all together and there are many faux pas. I mean, this isn't a one off.

I haven't been able to watch today like I did yesterday but I just saw that Ken Starr, the lead prosecutor in Bill Clinton's impeachment hearings said, "there is now proof that the President committed the crime of bribery". Holy shit balls, what have I missed!

Ambassador Sondland is testifying.

His opening statement and testimony includes acknowledgement that it was clear to everyone involved with Ukraine policy that President Trump had held up the committed Ukraine aid and White House meeting because Trump wanted President Zelensky to publicly-announce political investigations first.

Sondland was clearly not on board with Rudy Giuliani creating an unofficial channel for Ukraine dealings and working with shady characters in the process (two of whom were recently indicted on fraud/corruption related charges).

He said that Trump kept telling him (Sondland) to speak with Giuliani about the Ukraine aid/meeting.   Sondland also said that his boss, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, was kept up to date on all that was going on (and Chief of Staff Mulvaney was in the loop as well).

Thanks, HotD!

Much of what has been confirmed so far is all stuff I have always thought to be the case but I also know that there is a tremendous difference between one thinking they know something & actually knowing something confirmed as fact. Shit happens and things are sometimes not what they seem.

I like your analogy to cancer and radiation treatment.
