He is reactive and has gone through life not needing to think through what he has to say well before he says it and not caring about offence. He is also arrogant, egotistical and a blowhard. Hardly endearing traits. But though these traits are not "nice" it does not make them bigoted.

I think these particular traits ordinarily would be distasteful I find in the highly charged environment where outrage and PC culture trades at a higher premium than it ought, having someone like Trump stomping all over that is not only a necessary evil but a thing of wonder

I understand sarcasm perfectly well and understood BlindGreed to be firing a broadside about Progressives textbook identity politics as a way to deplatform, denounce or censor. Call your opponent racist, misogynist, sexist and suddenly who knows or cares whether their positions were reasonable, truthful or factual, they are dismissable and to be ignored.
It is a cheap, intellectual lazy and dishonest and morally bereft way to argue or live tbh.

One thing is-people who are racist (and I believe Trump is by the way, most people are a little racist whether we like to be or not) anyway, BIG TIME RACISTS are using Trump as a means to be openly racist-where before they were hiding it. Now it is full out in the open and it may be cool and funny to see Trump do and say what he says, the big bafoon that he is-but when he doesn't take a bigger stance against some of these bad behaviors I find it is not good.

They aren't using Trump to be a bigger racist than they were. What is happening is that every Trump supporter is being branded a racist and every defence of him or his policies as an endorsement of racism. There are ACTUAL racists (though small in representation) on both sides of politics but Trump has not endorsed or supported racists.

Look at the treatment of Steve King vs Representative Omar. Difference on how both sides deal with actual bigots.

Of course. It is a stupid and ignorant position to be racist. People are not the sum of their skin tone or ethnicity or genital. Most people do not think in these terms
However Progressives do think in these terms. They think of people as holding truths, values and desires specific to these groups.
Far Right groups do too. Neither is good.
The moderate Conservative, Centrist and Classical/moderate Liberal generally doesn't. Most people view people as individuals.

I think efforts to call everyone holding a different or unwelcome opinion racist cheapens the term just like those calling all sexual encounters rape, cheapens that term.

I really think that Progressive driven bullshit needs to stop. If everyone is racist then no one is. The term loses it power and meaning and the person who disagrees with or perhaps even dislikes a specific person of another race is now considered on the same footing as someone seeking out racial genocide.

Where I see the most racism is from people professing to be inclusive and tolerant Progressives.

They look at people as the SUM of the colour of their skin or their ethnicity or the genitals and BASED ON THAT, will tell you what is in that person's heart, their values, their desires, their intent. It is disgusting. What is more they do this under the guise of smug moral superiority and intellectual genius.

Most people do not need to pander to such bigoted notions and see through this transparent hypocrisy. But enough about HoTD. lol.
