High Strung

And yes I am aware that I can fit into the category of high strung.

It's definitely not a complement, irrespective of whether or not it's a valid assessment. It's a backhanded way of saying you're irritating, that avoids looking at why the person feels that way. People who have difficulty dealing with frustration are more likely to be irritated, and will typically blame that irritation on whatever triggers it.

So in other words you annoy him.

I can count on one hand the number of people in this world that aren't annoying. Does that reflect on me, or on the world? Hmmm...

You have to remove yourself from the situation, take a break and return to whatever it is later.

That didn't work with my laptop, I still wanted to smash it against the wall when I came back. I don't know how long it thinks I can sit there and stare at the little blue circle spinning. I know the sensible thing to do is just buy a new one.

Ugh. That would be frustrating. How old is it?

Do you prefer a laptop over a desktop? I got a new desktop a couple years ago and it's the nicest computer I've ever owned.

It's probably seven years old. The only reason I've been dealing with it is because it has all of my invoices and stuff on it, but at this point it's just ready to go in the trash. I don't know anything about computers other than I just want them to work.

There has to be a way for you to transfer your invoices to a new computer and it will involve a USB cable. If you were to buy a new one at Best Buy they would probably even do it for you.

I got an iMac with a 27 inch monitor. It's all in one. I love every little thing about it.

Backup to the Cloud or to an external drive?

Just a thought.

I'm going to have to have someone do that shit for me. I know as much about computers as I do about car engines, which would be nothing.

The lifecycle for computers now is 4-5 years. After that they're no longer supported. You can get around that somewhat if you're computer savvy but it's extremely frustrating. It's almost impossible for independant techs to repair Apple products because Apple is designing them to be repair-proof. Which is ironic because we're supposed to be trying to save the planet, yet we're continuing with the throwaway culture. Once they force people to lease hardware and software it will undoubtedly change, and that will be soon.

External drives are very simple to use. Drag and drop. Don't need to bother with software unless you want automatic backups.

Deep breathing, 5 minutes, 2X a day, or as needed.

I do 20-30 minutes, 2X a day, and it makes a world of difference.

You have got to get out of the habit of taking notice of what people say to you, good or bad. Its always flavoured with manipulation or selfishness. Decide for yourself, any observation is just a snapshot of the time and space.

If I like & respect someone, their opinions carry some weight with me. If that doesn't apply to someone, then I don't give a fuck what they think and/or say.
