Watching a doco tonight on some of the great American cities that will never be the same again. Detroit and Cleveland were obvious. Flint, Hartford, Albany and Buffalo were a bit of an education. New Orleans and New Jersy were a bit of a surprise, but probably not a stretch..
WTF happened? How did the world’s biggest economy, by far, and most industrialised nation, let this happen? Greed? Power? Complacency? But wtaf ?

As far as I can remember all of those places have always been shit holes. New Orleans is a fun place to go, but walk a couple blocks past the party and you’re right in the ghetto with the poorest of the poor. No one gives a shit about those people. Same with Buffalo, the American Niagra Falls side is downright depressing, but cross over to the Canadian side and your spirits are all of the sudden lifted.

Detroit started to decline in the 60s when white people moved out and black people moved in, same with Flint. Replacing a wealthy class with a poor class breeds poverty. I drove through Detroit 12 years ago and it was eerie, they may as well rename it Zombie Land.

Compare the US today with Israel and what you see is night and day. A "special" relationship, in which one party has gained enormous benefit, while the other party finds itself in the gutter. One tribe serves it's own interests, while the other does not.

Let's also blame the 'illegal ' (oops, I mean undocumented) immigrants , and the fact that those undocumented citizens have more support than our own veterans, we spent more money looking for dead billionaires at the bottom of the ocean, than we ever spent on indigenous people, and we have no problem with 70+ year old men running for president. All that together, equals the cluster fuck, which is America.

We should change the age qualification for President to 25 years old minimum and 65 years old maximum.
