If you are born here you are AMERICAN. If you are born on the soil of your country that is your RACE. Your nationality is the ethnic decedents you are born from.
If a black person is born in England, they call themselves ENGLISH.... so this makes them ENGLISH. Their ethnicity hails from whatever country their parents or earlier generation hailed from.
The only people in a family line that is NOT American, Australian or English (or any other country) are the original imigrants who CAME here and sought citizenship. ALL their children thereafter ARE indeed the race of that country.
