Pandora Radio
#1
Anyone use it? I got tired of my limited mp3's and have Pandora Radio streaming to me over the wireless. You put in a name of a group and it compiles a play list for you with that group and similar music. It's actually pretty sweet, even with the occasional "Pandora Radio" sound spot.

Streaming has come a long way since the last time I used it...my previous computer kept choking on it (hey, that reminds me of my ex-wife).

It's not one I've been familiar with, but I'm loading it up now.

I've used similar apps in the past, I usually don't have 'background noise' going most of the time though, except in my car - that's usually the only place I consistently listen to the radio.

I use it on my beloved iphone... I've got Depeche Mode plugged in so I can relive the 80s.

I put in 'Boy George' (stfu) and so far, it's given me Lauper and Kylie Minogue.

Yep. 80's is some of my favorite music too. Smiley_emoticons_wink Although next, I think I might try some middle eastern dance stuff and see what I get.

That made me think of this, which strangely also sounds a little Celtic:

Interesting but I don't think it sounds at all celtic. I think I see where you get it from though, the drum beat is close to a celtic beat.

This is one of my favorite middle eastern fusion dance pieces

The INTRO sounds Celtic, the rest doesn't.

LOL Well, obviously the Spanish bits weren't very Celtic... yeah, I guess it's the flute.

That dancing thing kind of freaks me out. I liked the first woman with the snaky arms but those three reminded me of zombies for some reason.

The short one with the dark hair is fucking hot. I'd bone her all night long. The redhead and blond don't do it for me though. Which is a shame, I usually love redheads. Smiley_emoticons_razz

I was talking about the MUSIC, not the dancing...

but yeah, I agree. I think the first dancer was better. It's a Suhaila Salimpour choreography, she's an icon in the world of middle-eastern dance. I didn't look that closely, so it might be her in the very beginning, I'm not sure.

If you like middle eastern then type in "Vas" This lady sings the haunting type of music you hear in Gladiator (although that was Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance).

Yeah, I'm familiar with Vas and I've like 'Dead Can Dance' since... sometime back in the 90s. Thanks Smiley_emoticons_smile

Boy George! Oh, fuck no I Can't STFU. I want to drive my car into a fucking tree whenever that shit comes on my radio. Thank God common sense takes hold and I just change the channel. I like the 80's too, until that shit comes on. I like the hair bands.
< cough..cough> Ok, to each their own.

Yeah whatever. I've always like his voice and his songs. I loved his outfits. He was a defining part of the 80s and the gender-blending and tolerance which evolved from that period. Interesting life story too.
