Jack London, January 12, 1876 – November 22, 1916, was born in California, out of wedlock to Flora Wellman, a music teacher and spiritualist who claimed to channel the spirit of an Indian chief. All we got taught about American history in school was the civil war and the revolutionary war. British history is so fucking long and endless there wasn't much time to teach anything else.

My history teachers were all pretty shit, they made world war 2 sound like a snoozefest.
