This dog is fucking terrified

Another Japanese video, this one claiming the dog is smiling with happiness whenever the owner is around. I'm more of a cat person, but even I can see this poor dog trembling in terror and that looks more like a cringe waiting for a hit from the guy. Am I wrong, dog owners?

I hate pointing out the obvious but dogs don't smile. That is definitely a defensive response like its expecting to get water squirted in its face any second.

Nothing to worry about, I know dogs like Cesar Millan, the dog is not scared, they just have a "C" clamp on his nuts.

I believe most dogs put their ears up and wag their tails ferociously when they're happy to see their master. I saw some slight tail wagging and then none. This dog is not happy.

I've actually known quite a few dogs who learn to 'smile' in various ways. They usually look more like they are baring their teeth, but I've also seen dogs who learn to pull the corners of their mouth up, like that one is doing.

It's usually a submissive thing. The dog appears to be nervous submissive to its owner.
