Same here. I feel a little sad and guilty though that my Dad feels so miserable lately.

He feels he has no purpose and gets angry and complains about his ache and pains and his constant peeing and pooping. He's stressed about money (owes money on back taxes) and I think most days he's just waiting to die.

Though I think he did enjoy the Italian buffet at the Rivers Casino we took him to tonight. *knocks on wood*

We thought 'IT' was a really good movie. Stephen King does a great job creating interesting and believable young people dealing with life (and death) in rural America. The director of this movie captured the spirit of the book well, I thought.

It's pretty long, but went by quickly. It leaves you wondering at the end, and then makes mention of Part II. Given how well the movie is doing at the box office, Part II is probably already in development.

We really enjoyed having dinner and drinks brought to us during the movie. It's pretty cool how the Alamo Drafthouse theaters have that set up; food was pretty good too.

IT reboot was way better than the original in my opinion. They left off all the "grownup losers" stuff in favor of focusing on the kid battle which I felt was artistically sound, and while clowns don't do shit for me as scary things, I could see where Skaarsgard was very scary evil clown. Did his job well. And the cinematography was spectacular too.

Unfortunately I spent most of the movie wondering if they'd have the balls to go with Kings original "kid battle" finale, as it was jarring and did not fit with the central theme of the story (betrayal and abuse by trusted figures). I have always hated that particular ending, and have used it over the years to illustrate how Stephen King writes like a motherfucker but can't end a book. I won't share it here for spoilers, but if you read the book you already know.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

We have a similar one here which was recently built, it's called the Cobb theater. It's great to have a beer or cocktail while watching a movie, the food is ok and the chairs are awesome. It will probably put all the other movie theaters out of business.

Is anyone familiar with the book The Snowman? It's now a movie and it'll be released this month.

I watched Salem's Lot (alone) when I was house sitting for my grandparents. I couldn't walk out to my own car in the driveway, my friends had to come and get me.

I discovered Steven King back mid 80's and figured out the same thing, He kind of pissed me off taking so long to finish the Dark Tower series, took him years...
I always liked the way he develops characters, makes you feel like you Know these people

Mindhunter on Netflix. I read the book in college when I was studying abnormal psychology. I also wrote a thesis on serial killers as a result. The series follows fairly close with the book, but of course there's splashes of Hollywood throughout. John Douglass was NEVER a ladies man, never smoked weed and rarely drank. The interview scenes with the serial killers was spot on as well as the cases solved in the interim. I'm seriously jonesing for season 2 now. HIGHLY recommended if you've ever wondered what makes a serial killer tic.

Reviews are saying this is a terrible movie. Just shows you can never trust a trailer.
